About us

A small shop that takes locks seriously.

A & M Locksmith is Andro and Michelle. You’ll find us in the blue shopfront at 117 Main Road in Kleinmond. The shop front is run by the owners and an assistant, but the phone calls are usually handled by Michelle and the callout jobs are done by Andro.

Walk in and you’ll find a wall full of door keys, padlocks and lock boxes ready to go, plus a display of ignition barrels and garage remotes. Jobs can either be sorted on the day or take a while longer, depending on the type of job and availability.

I’m locked out. What should I do?

Phone us on 066 553 9296. We’ll tell you honestly how soon we can get to you, whether it’s a house, business or vehicle lockout, a key snapped in the lock or a lock that has stopped working.

Can you make a spare or replacement car key?

Yes. We cut, code and program transponder keys and remotes in-house with our own equipment, so nothing gets sent away. We also fit new shells to broken key fobs, replace fob batteries and repair or replace ignition barrels and vehicle door locks.

Can I get keys copied at the shop?

Yes. Key cutting and duplication is done at our counter on Main Road. Bring in the key you want copied, whether it’s for a house, gate or padlock.

Can you open a safe if I’ve forgotten the combination?

Yes. We do safe opening, repairs, lock replacement and replacement safe keys. Bring the safe in, or phone and we’ll come to you.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:30, Friday 08:00 – 16:00 and Saturday 09:00 – 12:00. We’re closed on Sundays and on some Saturdays, so please phone ahead before a Saturday visit.

Do you sharpen knives and garden tools?

Yes. Drop off knives, biltong knives, scissors, garden shears or axes at the shop and collect them with a proper edge on them.
